Did you know that nearly as many hedgehogs are killed in our gardens as on the roads?

Out during the day
If you find a hedgehog out during the day there is always something wrong even if it does not look like it is ill or injured ,as a point of action catch the hedgehog and wrap it up in an old jumper or towel to keep it warm, making sure that it can still move and breath easily. Then put it in a cardboard box leaving one flap of the box open so the hedgehog can still breath. Once you have done this contact your local hedgehog rescue centre, vet or the RSPCA . For the list of North Norfolk hedgehog rescue centres go to the contacts page on the left hand side. If you want to feed it, you can give it cat or dog food but not a fish variety, milk or bread . Also make sure it has water to drink. Remember who ever you call you will not be changed for the treatment that the hedgehog requires and you may just save its life
This information is the same if you find any obviously injured or ill hedgehog.
